Henry Baker exhibits ancient gold ring set with an emerald found in digging foundations near the Royal Exchange, London [detailed account].
Lord Cardross’s gift of engravings of SE view of Icolmkill Cathedral etched by him from his drawing (1761) when a student at Glasgow Academy.
John Forster’s son aged 13, conversant in several languages, gift of a translation from the Russian into English entitled A Chronological Abridgement of the Russian History by Michael Lomonsoff.
