Scope and content
Internal evacuation plans, with hand drawn plans showing window and painting sites per room. There is a full catalogue of paintings listing their on-site location along with correspondence relating to the removal and safe storage of 3 chairs. Also an overview of the overall excavation, confirming the number of artifacts moved in the initial evacuation of August 1939, and subsequent evacuation in March 1941. Additionally, confirmation that the remaining books were stored in two bays of the library and were undamaged when the skylights were destroyed in April 1941.
