Bundle of papers related to the expansion of the Ancient Monuments Protection Act 1882, with letters from the Leicester Archaeological and Architectural Society and the Archaeological section of the Birmingham and Midland Institute supporting the argument for a broader application of the Act. There are notes from a meeting held on 8 May 1896 discussing lists of monuments covered by the Act and those which the committee feels should have been included (no monuments are named).
