Scope and content
Envelope containing a number of letters written in response to invitations to be a local secretary on behalf of the Society. Almost all accept, although some stress that their knowledge is niche and pigeon-holed, except for W. Maclean, who turns the position down, citing his age. James Bramble also requests that he be reconsidered as he lives on the edge of his assigned area and had concerns about his suitability for the position for this reason. One suggests that Prince Frederick Duleep Singh replace him in nomination due to his interest in and knowledge of antiquities.
