Rosser writes to exhibit an Egyptian cat which he has recently unwrapped, along with two statues of ‘Bubastes’ [Bastet]. There is a fairly detailed description of the unwrapping process and the condition of the body both during and soon after the unwrapping. The two statues are noted as being from the ‘D’Athanasis’ Collection, presumably Athanasius Kircher’s collection.
