The Secretary presents a transcript correspondence relating to instructions written for Sir Thomas Wyatt and Philip Hoby for a trip to Spain to meet with the Emperor Charles V, relating to the possible marriage of Princess Mary to Prince Philip.
There are also some transcripts of letter fragments containing further instructions for Philip Hoby, and discussion on potential marriages, some of which are written by Thomas Cromwell, and one which confirms an upcoming visit from ambassadors for the Duke of Cleves to the English court in relation to Henry VIII’s potential marriage to Anne of Cleves.
