Letter from CT Ramage to his mother from Naples on 1 July 1827. Refers to his correspondence with Mr Tait on his future plans. Dr Quin, Prince Leopold's private Physician, is on the lookout for anything that might be advantageous to CT Ramage. Count Ficquelmont, the Austrian minister, has been helpful to his endeavours to learn German. Conemplates his romantic future and possibilities, noting the dearth of English women in Castelamare where he will spend the summer months. Reports that Matthew Lushington has 'gone all wrong' gambling and nearly ruining himself. Has dined with Sir Archibald and Lady Campbell, and was 'by no means pleased with their behaviour'.
