An Exact Survey of that Part of Jud's Hill in Ospringe near Faversham in Kent over which the Roman Road did lead from Dover to London.

Explanation.
The dotted line marked aaa is the direct line from Broughton Hill towards Canterbury to Beacon Hill leading towards London. The black spots marked bbb were found in making a new road A, about 3 feet in diameter at the top and about 3 feet in depth filled up with ashes of woodcoal - Oyster shells and a variety of fragments of Roman Earthen Ware of various colours -one Bottle of a white brown colour with a handle containing abt. a quart etc. and a small Urn with Ashes in it and a medal of Vespasian of the middle sized Brass very much worn. -
At that place marked C was discovered part of a Human Skeleton very much decayed.
cccc marks out a very ancient ditch which now encloses part of the Garden of the pleasant seat called Jud's House formerly King Stephen's Castle of James Flint esq.
