Printing plate reproducing a stained glass with Robert King, first Bishop of Oxford; from Christ Church cathedral; with copper plate maker's stamp on reverse.
This etching is included in the Earl of Crawford's second volume of Fowler's prints, which contained sixty-two prints reproducing stained glass windows. The volume was published by William Fowler in 1804, thanks to the sponsorship of Joseph Banks.

This plate was dedicated to the Dean and Chapter of Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford. The print was published with a pamphlet that describes the location of the window and its history. The window was removed from the cathedral between 1651 and 1660 (Interregnum) by one member of the King family, who kept the window safe. The pamphlet includes a description of the arms and short biography of Robert King.

Digitised thanks to the kind donation of Dr Richard Goddard FSA.
