Although this plate is included in volume III of Fowler's prints, it was not published for sale but circulated among Fowler's friends and patrons.
The copper plate is very thin for its overall dimensions and does not have a bevelling like the other Fowler plates. Additionally, the plate warped slightly, either due to printing (the plate is too thin and might have been affected by the rolling press's pressure) or incorrect storage. The reverse has traces of white chalk.
Digitised thanks to the kind donation of Dr Richard Goddard FSA.
