Rectangular wooden printing block showing:-
Obverse: carved and engraved design depicting facsimiles of prehistoric wooden objects from Hollingbourne, Kent, described as weapons; including an 'axe' with a curved handle and a round hole on the body, with an illustration of its section above accompanied by a caption; and smaller 'knife' or 'sword' engraved at the bottom. Ink residue remaining on surface.
Reverse: traces of printer's waste paper attached to surface.
The object depicted in the Proceedings, illustrated using this printing block, now forms part of the Museum collection at Burlington House (LDSAL888).
