Rectangular wooden printing block showing:-
Obverse: carved and engraved design depicting pendant seal impression of Matilda, wife of Simon Fraunceys, Lord Mayor of London, from a fourteenth century document; showing a shield divided in two, containing a saltire with four crosses in the gaps, and a chevron with three billets. With legend. Signed 'Cleghorn' at the bottom right. Ink residue remaining on surface.
Reverse: printer's waste paper attached to surface with handwritten publication reference.
