Square wooden printing block showing:-
Obverse: carved and engraved design depicting Anglo-Saxon fibula, or brooch, from Fairford, Gloucestershire; in bands of alternating decoration on the disc - a series of curved lines and dots, followed by repeating spikes; with a star-shaped device at the centre. Ink residue remaining on surface.
Reverse: engraver's signature handwritten on surface and handwritten publication reference.
