Reference note
Image printed on p. 346.
Square wooden printing block showing:-
Obverse: carved and engraved design depicting fifteenth century circular seal impression of William Neville, Lord Fauconberg; showing central device of a bull with vines extending from either side; and a shield at an angle underneath divided in four containing lions and saltires. With legend. Signed 'Cleghorn' at the bottom. Ink residue remaining on surface.
Reverse: engraver's signature handwritten on surface.
While the image engraved in the block corresponds to that in the publication source, the shape of the printed image appears more of an oval shape than the circular one seen in the block.
