Square wooden printing block showing:-
Obverse: carved and engraved design depicting three sides of an earthenware cube, speculated as being a stamp, found in Lincolnshire; with differing design on each face: four panes containing crosses and divided by a central cross; concentric heart shapes; and repeating wavy pattern at the top. Ink residue remaining on surface.
Reverse: engraver's stamp on surface in purple ink, along with carved manufacturer's mark and two handwritten inscriptions in black ink, one partially obscured by printer's waste paper.
Digitised thanks to the kind donation of Dr Edward Harris MBE FSA.
