Rectangular wooden printing block showing:-
Obverse: carved and engraved design depicting sixteenth century silver-gilt cup with cover, made from repurposed great seal of Phillip and Mary I for Nicholas Bacon, Lord Keeper of the Great Seal under Elizabeth I; showing widened body showing traces of two coats of arms; four hallmarks at the centre and an inscription in English around the surface below the rim. At the top of the engraving is the cover, topped with a concave fitting with a tall urn-shaped attachment with curved handles, and a figure of a boar at the top. Ink residue remaining on surface.
Reverse: printer's waste paper attached to surface with handwritten publication reference.
