Square wooden printing block showing:-
Obverse: carved and engraved design depicting a cast of seal of the Mayor of the Staple of Westminster, from the late-fourteenth century; showing the keys of St. Peter crossed at the centre within a quatrefoil device, with woolsacks at each lobe; with legend. Ink residue remaining on surface.
Reverse: printer's waste paper attached to surface with handwritten publication reference.
