Obverse: carved and engraved design depicting fifteenth-century silver and parcel-gilt chalice and accompanying paten from a church in Clifford Chambers, Gloucestershire. It has a conical round-bottomed bowl; an hexagonal stem with a central ornamented knot with lozenge-shaped panels containing the letter 'I' and a cross; and a six-sided base with crescent-shaped supports at each point and an engraving of the Crucifixion on the central panel. The circular paten is shown above and behind; with a central engraving of Christ's face inside a circle within a depression with lobes; and three hallmarks on the right side denoting its date. Ink residue remaining on surface.
Reverse: manufacturer's stamp in purple ink on surface, along with publication reference and additional unattributed number.
