Obverse: carved and engraved design depicting back of a wooden figure of the Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus from a church in Yorkshire; showing a hollowed out section with a central depression; intended for use as a reliquary, with remnants of iron nails around the edges for a cover. Ink residue remaining on surface.
Reverse: two engraver's stamps on surface.
