Rectangular wooden printing block showing:-
Obverse: carved and engraved design depicting bronze flanged axehead from a barrow burial in Yorkshire, with linear markings down the surface, terminating at a band of additional zigzag markings. Ink residue remaining on surface.
Reverse: printer's waste paper with type attached to surface with handwritten publication reference.
