Taken from the original broadside: no. 303 (A Looking-glasse for city and countrey vvherein is to be seene many fearfull examples in the time of this grieuous visitation, with an admonition to our Londoners flying from the city, and a perswasion [to the?] country to be more pitifull to such as come for succor amongst them.)

Obverse: carved and engraved design depicting a reproduction of a woodcut illustration from a 17th century broadside, originally from 1630; showing a horse-drawn carriage filled with six people in contemporary clothing, with two others walking next to the carriage, a driver holding the reigns, and a skeleton wielding a spear between the horses and driver; representing a scene of Londoners fleeing the city during an outbreak of plague. Image reproduced from a sheet containing a larger scene with several other illustrations, titled 'A Looking-glasse for city and countrey vvherein is to be seene many fearfull examples in the time of this grieuous visitation'. Printed in London by Henry Gosson. Ink residue remaining on surface.
