Reference note
Taken from the original broadside: no. 43 (Remember man both night and day, thou must nedes die there is no nay).
L-shaped wooden printing block showing:-
Obverse: carved and engraved design depicting a reproduction of a woodcut illustration from a 16th century broadside, originally from c. 1557; showing two figures' heads, facing away from one another, divided by a curved band containing twisted knots, with three criss-crossing designs at three points; the top design extends into a wavy line with an end resembling a plume or leaf. Image is reproduced from a woodcut on a ballad sheet, titled 'Remember man both night and day, thou must nedes die there is no nay', printed in London by John Tysdale and John Charlewood. Ink residue remaining on surface.
Reverse: printer's waste paper attached to surface, slightly obscuring a handwritten publication reference.
Digitised thanks to the kind donation of Mr Martin Levy FSA.
