Bason [sic] of metal, found near the suface of a piece of sandy barren ground, on the Sea Shore, about 3 miles S.W. of Christ Church, in Hampshire. Mr Tapps supposes it to be Roman, and used as a scale, lamp, or dish, to hold fire occasionally, he having in Italy seen several of the same description.
