Proceedings of the Society of Antiquaries of London 4 (1856-1859): 137-42. W L Banks had sent a drawing of the dish to the Society. A W Franks described all the examples of these paired bowls then known to him, and describes their use, quoting from contemporay wills, inventories, etc.
