This bronze sword which is quite entire, and only here divided in two to suit the size of the paper, and also the bronze javelin head were found in May 1854 in Corsbie Moss near Corsbie tower, an old border tower which formerly belonged to the Cranstons in the parish of Legerwood in the County of Berwick about 3½ miles south of Spottiswood - they were found in the peat moss within a foot or two of the surface by two persons digging a drain.
They are both perfect. The sword had a Scabbard when found apparently made of some metal but so corroded that it fell to pieces.
