Elevation of a Tower, in the Village of Purwah, said, by the Inhabitants, to have ben built by Shaw Seffei, about 700 years ago. It is computed to be about 150 foot high.
From the Ground to the 4th Story [sic] are 107 Steps, of about 11 Inches each. It is of solid Masonry, excepting the Stair Case of Mortar and Crusted over with Lime. The Bricks are very fresh and good, 'tho' the Tower itself is bulged in some places, and threatens ruin. Near it, also, are some Remarkable Tombs and other Burying places. At the Bottom of it is also a Seray [sic], with a Vaulted Roof, supported by 3 Rows of Pillars. The Village itself has, in former Times, been more Considerable, as appears by the Vestiges of a Moat and Rampart of great Extent.
