Charles Newton, Notes on the Sculptures at Wilton House (London: John Murray, 1849), p. 25, cat. no. 159. This statue was probably the one described by Newton as 'Female figure, clad in a tunic and pallium, or veil. She is seated on a seat of rather a peculiar form, with four legs; her feet on a footstool; her hands, one of which holds a roll...are modern...'
