Scope and content
Small reading case containing various handwritten notes, diagrams and photographs of Roman glass, iron, lead and bronze items also notes on Roman weights and potters’ kilns. Including copies of printed articles relating to Roman pottery at Harlow and Excavations at Wilderspool. Also a copy of a handwritten talk on treasure trove. Copies of printed articles on Roman bronzes and a ‘Find of Roman Coins at Clapton in Gordano Somerset’ by F S Salisbury 1927. A printed copy of May’s articles on Roman Weights at Melandra 1903 and 1906 and a copy of Wilfrid Airy’s Ancient Weights of Britain 1913 with letter to May from the author.
