Parts 1 and 2 of miscellaneous correspondence mainly dated 1922-1927 and 1927-1931.
Correspondence includes letters in relation to various excavations, particularly Richborough, Stratford-on-Avon and Ospringe, Kent. Includes numerous letters from William Whiting (co-author of Excavation of the Roman Cemetery at Ospringe Kent 1931), Jocelyn Bushe-Fox (H.M. Office of Works) in relation to Richborough and Stratford-on-Avon and The Trustees and Guardians of Shakespeare’s Birthplace re excavations in Stratford. Miscellaneous correspondence in relation to publication of May’s various reports and publications, in particular with M.R. Hull re the Catalogue of Roman Pottery in Colchester and Essex Museum; also in relation to a paper on Imitation Sigillata. Substantial correspondence with H.R. Hodgkinson on various matters relating to pottery finds in Droitwich and in relation to the Birmingham Archaeological Association. Also letters from George Milner, Phillip Lawson, F.A. Bruton, R.S. Conway and Heywood Summer as well as various Societies, Museums and Guilds; also with various ironworks in relation to analysis of slags.
