Handwritten prayers for Sunday morning and Sunday evening including two loose sheets of four pages each. Miscellaneous loose sheets including notes on Foxe’s Martyrs.
Reverse of book comprises hand written Index and notes on the Lysons family. This includes a short history of Daniel Lysons referencing his brother Samuel, in particular in the writing and publication of The Environs of London (referencing help given by Horace Walpole), Magna Britannia, History of the Origin and Progress of The Three Choirs of Hereford, Gloucester and Worcester and Fifteen Sermons Taken from the Discourses of Jeremy Taylor. Also included are extracts from the baptisms, marriages and burial registers for Gloucester, entries in the Wills Register at Llandaff, a memorandum of ecclesiastical positions held by the Lysons family, a copy of the origin and pedigree of the Peach family produced by Revd John Boutflower and John Papworth’s notes on the Lysons coat of arms. Miscellaneous notes on where further documents and information regarding the family may be found. List of Rectors of Rodmarton since 1325.
