Scope and content
Transcript made in 1919 by Mill Stephenson of a 16th century version of this roll of arms, owned by Everard Green, Somerset Herald, FSA, who presented it to the College of Arms in 1920.
Contents of volume:
- notes on sources, fols 1-3;
- list of coats of arms, with blazons, fol 3v, supplied from Fitzwilliam MS 297 to replace the missing first leaf of the Everard Green MS;
- blazons, with photographs of the original tipped in, and index, fols 4-65; blazons on dorse, with indexes, fols 66-127v;
- ordinary of the obverse, fols 129-64 (rectos);
- blazons from College of Arms MS B.29, with photographs and index, fols 128v-150 (versos).
Loose at back:
- three photographs from the Fitzwilliam MS.
- typescript compliments slip from Anthony Wagner to Mill Stephenson, 10 January 1936, enclosing typescript notes from the same to the same, describing ‘Planché’s Roll’ [the earlier name for this roll of arms] and listing eight MS versions, 9 January 1935.
