Hardback notebook containing histories and descriptions of pre-reformation church altars in the following locations: Bloxham, Bristol Abbey, Parish Church of St. Mary (Bristol), Chapel of St. Pancras (Canterbury), Collegiate Church of St. John the Baptist (Chester), Christchurch Priory, Clevedon Court, Colly Weston, Collegiate Church of St. John the Baptist (Coventry), Church of St. Mary-in-Castro (Dover), Gloucester Abbey Church, Hayles, Parish Church of St. Peter (Hereford), Parish Church of All Saints (Huntingdon), Keysoe, Lakenheath, Lanercost Priory, Llantwit Major, Netley Abbey, Notgrove and Pertenhall. Every entry concerns sites where the mensa itself is missing but the location is clear from the remaining stonework. There are photographs, floor plans and drawings, with dimensions given, for most entries.
