Hardback notebook containing histories and descriptions of pre-reformation church altars at the following locations: St. Albans, St. Davids, Saxthorpe, Smarden, Stoke Poges, Tattershall, Temple Bruer, Tewkesbury, Thetford Priory, Thornton Abbey, Warwick, Weston-in-Gordano, Weybourne Priory, Willoughby-on-the-Wolds, Wimborne Minster, Winchester Cathedral, Winchester (Hospital of St. Cross), Worcester Cathedral & Yatton. Each entry has a detailed account of the stone slab(s), either present or missing, and there are photographs, postcards, rubbings and drawings, with dimensions given, for many entries. There is also a printed copy of an article entitled 'The Earlier Paintings at Westminster Abbey'.
