Scope and content
Two copies of a printed plan, mounted on card. Printed note at lower left ‘[The n]umbering of the Stones / [is t]hat adopted by Mr. [W. M.] Flinders Petrie’; key showing the stones standing and recumbent at 30 December 1900.
This is an earlier version of the plan eventually used for Plate VII in Archaeologia 58 (1902).
1. Mounted on card. MS annotations to show (in red ink) the numbers of the stones given by [Sir Richard Colt] Hoare, with other notes by Gowland in blue crayon.
2. On paper, unmounted. No annotations.
The Society also holds a large plan of Stonehenge: 'Plan showing stones standing and fallen': a scale drawing, showing the arrangement of the stones, coloured to identify sarsens, bluestones and others. (GOW/01/11)
