The grounds of Limnerslease, home of the artist Mary Watts (1849-1938) in Compton, Surrey, showing part of the site as excavated in 1914. Two peoples' feet are visible (their shoes and clothing suggesting that one is a man and the other a woman). Plate IIIA of Mill Stephenson, A Roman Building Found at Compton, 1915, shows the same figures in the same position, with the location identified as the Stokehole of the Hypercaust, and the photograph credited to Mr. R. Garraway Rice.
