A label ‘Lincoln Cathedral. G. W. W.’ has been placed over another label that seems to begin with the word ‘Cathedral’ and ends with ‘ales. G. W. W.’. G. W. W. may refer to photographer George Washington Wilson (Alvah, Banffshire, Scotland, 1823 – 1893) who is known to have photographed Lincoln Cathedral amongst other cathedrals.
