Level of description
Scope and content
St Marys, Bibury, Gloucestershire. North Aisle Doorway.

The Buildings of England, Gloucestershire 1, 1999. p 169 ‘… the fine and interesting late C12 N doorway has been reused. It has capitals and abaci with ribbed palm-leaves, beaded chevron beneath a billeted hoodmould, and a plain tympanum cut through with a later trefoiled arch.’

GLS/02/0480 shows some stone decay to the top billets of the hoodmould, and there is a wire mesh door. See GLS/02/0481 for a similar view without stone decay and without the wire mesh door.
