Scope and content
Carved wood Misericord seat. The central carving is of the Legend of St. Giles. A bearded and hooded monk in a cave or cell holding a rosary in one hand and caressing a hind but an arrow pierces his knee. The carved cave is surrounded with carved foliage and possibly acorns. Flanking the central figure are two carvings of soldiers in chain mail seemingly taking aim at the monk with bows. These figures are set on carvings of oak leaves.
