Diaries of a voyage in the Eastern Mediterranean in March and April 1909, continued from FOW/01/67.
Includes details of train and boat travel around Sicily, Greece and Turkey, including numerical references in red pen to picture cards in FOW/01/68a and observations on sights seen, food and accommodation, and the onboard gymkhana.
Photographs (9cm by 6cm) adhered to the pages of the notebook: Kalamaki (view from railway station); Corinth (9) - Temple of Apollo, series of 16 shops on street that led to Lechaeon, shops on north side of Roman agora, site of small Greek temple, fountain of Glauke; Mycenae (5) – tombs of Agamemnon and Clytemnestra, circular tomb enclosure, Lion Gate, excavations at Tiryns; Catania – Etna (1); Taormina (5) – theatre auditorium, interior and exterior of stage part, East Gate, outside East Gate; Syracuse (2) - Roman amphitheatre, Greek theatre; Naples (1); Sorrento (2); Paris (1); Dover from train on pier (1).
