Single bound volume of handwritten notes relating to the monumental brasses of Nottinghamshire (mainly pre-1725), arranged in alphabetical order of place names, with preface and index with numbered pages. Information compiled from various sources including The Antiquities of Nottingham by Robert Thornton. Dr of Physick. Generally includes a description of the brass, its location, size and inscription and separately inserted or adhered drawings, rubbings and printed plates. Copy of a printed article by the author regarding the Brasses in Clifton Church. Hand drawn pedigree of the Clifton family and details of the arms of allied families. Copies of a number of printed articles and plates from The Monumental Brasses of Nottinghamshire separately inserted or adhered. Also includes details of the Arms of the families mentioned.
