Single bound volume of handwritten notes relating to the lost and existing monumental brasses of Cambridgeshire (mainly pre 1700), arranged in alphabetical order of place names, with short preface (general notes) and index with numbered pages. Includes description of the brass, its location, size and inscription. Information based on Mill Stephenson’s “A List of Monumental Brasses of the British Isles” and others. Separately inserted or adhered are printed plates from the series of Monumental Brasses by Charles Boutell and some drawings by the author. Includes separately inserted or adhered printed articles and plates regarding Bishop Goodrich (Ely Cathedral), Dr Hawford (Christ’s College Cambridge), Dr Walter Hewke (Trinity Hall, Cambridge). Also includes hand drawn pedigree of part of the Peyton family (Isleham).
