Scope and content
This small bound notebook is mostly empty but has 17 leaves of notes and drawings on types of mail (armour) and references to instances thereof. At the back of the notebook are 4 pages of notes on paintings in St Stephen's Chapel (the Royal Chapel of St Stephen in the old Palace of Westminster, largely destroyed in the 1834 fire) described as taken from 'the account of Sir H. Englefield 1811, published by Ant. Soc. as supplement to Topham's work'.
