This folder contains loose handwritten notes, some on Archaeological Institute notepaper, together with correspondence and many drawings of artefacts and stone formations.
Many of the notes evidence Way's review of the Society minute books from the late 1700s when fellows exhibited or presented artefacts including notes and drawings on earthenware, brass, bronze, copper and glass fragments, decorations, weapons and pots.
One small package containing notes and drawings titled Age of Bronze ("Alterthumer aus dem Bronzealter." Worsaae.).
One small package titled Age of Flint.
One small package titled Roman Potters Marks.
11 small packages on the derivation of placenames including Herefordshire names, Staffordshire names, Fleet, Way, Connigries, Cad, Cold, Leam, Tuthill, Laylands and Yorkshire names.
Newspaper cutting 4 December 1867 on the discovery of Roman remains in Appleton-le-Street, N. Yorkshire.
A detailed drawing of Hereford Cathedral processional crosses and pastoral staves.
