Scope and content
This folder contains 2 small packages of handwritten notes and drawings.
The first package is labelled with a T symbol, and contains notes and drawings on the symbol T or Tau in heraldic, religious and sepulchral use; including a letter from Charles Octavius Swinnerton Morgan FSA (1803-1888) (see Papers of Charles Octavius Morgan, MOA); 3 letters with drawings dated 1848-9 from Charles Winston (1814-1864) (see Catalogue of drawings of painted glass by Charles Winston, WIN); 2 letters dated 29 Jan 1848 and 4 Feb 1848 from Weston Styleman Walford (1802-1879); and a letter dated 10 Aug 1849 from George Oliver (1781-1861). Way collaborated with Winston and Walford on articles in the Archaeological Journal.
The second package is labelled 'Sepulchral Symbols' and contains thirteen drawings of ornaments; 3 letters dated 1 Dec 1847, 26 Jan 1849 and 21 Feb [1849] from Charles William Bingham (1810-1881) and a letter dated18 Feb 1847 from George Goldie (1828-1887).
