Account of a Roman tessellated pavement at Caerwent, Monmouthshire, alongside the discovery of its subsequent drawing in February 1777; drawer assumed to be C. Thay.
Colonel Richard Townley’s account on removing the tumulus on the Gog-Magog Hills, finding seven skeletons buried under it; including his observations for their positioning and significance, and their comparisons to the skeletons found underneath the Roman Roads; consideration on the presence of mould and concerns for preservation; includes Father Thomas West’s analysis of the skeletons regarding their potential for Saxon or Danish roots.
