Preserved in thirty-eight boxes, folders, etc. Mostly quarto. Formerly in purpose-made boxes, brown spines, with marbled boards, some now replaced by other containers.
Scope and content
Typescript catalogue by Barnard (1951). The manuscript material consists chiefly of Prattinton's commonplace book (Misc. II/XII), a folder of work in progress, 1832 (Misc. II/XVI), letters to Prattinton (Misc. II/XX) and deeds (Misc. II/IX, IXB, XXIV, XXXVIII). An edition of the letters, by Isobel Robinson, is in preparation for Worcs. Hist. Soc., 1999. The deeds (mainly Latin, vellum; a few English) are mostly calendared in MS lists by Irvine Gray, FSA; see copies with the collections.
