Lease for 11 years by Symon Turner of London, gent., to William Hicks, citizen and vintner of London, of a shop 'towards the street' late in the occupation of John Maynard, bookseller, and of a messuage belonging to it called The George, late in the occupation of Ellen Joanes (Jones), widow, near the sign of the Bull Head in Fleet Street in the parish of St Dunstan in the West, London, with the use of the entry leading from Fleet Street to the Bull Head and liberty to fetch water from the pump in Bull Head Yard. Includes schedule of goods in the dining room, the chambers up 2 pairs of stairs and 3 pairs of stairs, the back chamber, the room 'before the barre', the entries, the kitchen, the chamber up 1 pair of stairs next to Clifford's Inn, the chamber next to it and 2 chambers over it. Signature of William Hicks and seal on seal tag. Poor impression. With counterpart (03) with signature of Symon Turner and wax on seal tag. Counterpart endorsed with memorandum of assignment of lease by Richard Read, citizen and cabinet maker of London, administrator of the goods of Margery Hickes, to Thomas Dring, stationer of London, 2 May 1654.
